Tank Battles:
One Big Bucket of Nothing

In our Tank Battles book for Panzer Grenadier, one of the more popular features was the inclusion of make-your-own counters for the Austrian Bundesheer of 1938, along with a background article and several scenarios.

We ran into space problems cramming all of that counter goodness onto the back cover. There are also German helicopter counters there, and Panzer Grenadier counters have two sides to them. Something had to give.

After some hard thought, the Austrian leaders had to go. Some other leader pool would have to be used. I wanted to give the Bundesheer a good selection, plus the background had to contrast the Germans, who fight the Austrians in all of the book’s scenarios. Since anyone from Austria who’s lived or even visited outside the country has put up with “g’day mate” or worse from some happy idiot who can’t separate “Austria” and “Australia,” we decided to use the Australian leaders from Afrika Korps as a minor inside joke.

The new download does away with that need. We’re including all of the Austrian pieces from the game, so you can keep the back of your Tank Battles book fresh and intact.
