Classic Wargames:
The Rebirth
Our popular Classic Wargames program has
brought wargames to player’s tables
that would not otherwise have seen the light
of day: Leyte
Gulf, U.S.
Navy Plan Gold, Tiger
of Malaya and Alamein.
More are in production: Army
of Lappland, Battles
of 1866, Cone
of Fire and Red
Desert.
About every three months, we’ll present
three new proposals for games that fall a
little outside our usual parameters: they’re
very large, on unusual topics, are very hardcore
“real wargames,” or for some other
reason are good games but just aren’t
the sort of thing we believe we can sell through
our normal methods.
Gamers choose which of the three they want
to see placed in production by placing their
pre-order pledge, including a credit card
number. We’ll update the totals weekly.
When the time limit is up, one of the new
games will be declared the winner and enter
production.
The latest proposals graduated to actual
production status on July 23, 2007. Look for
a new batch of candidates soon.
Potential Questions
Is the end date set in concrete? Will you extend it?
No. If no contender is close to the total we consider
viable for publication, we may cancel all three and start
over. On the other hand, if one opens a lead far ahead of
the others and is over that threshold well before the end
date, we do reserve the option to call the race early.
Does my Gold Club discount apply?
Yes it does.
What if the race is very close? Can there be multiple
winners?
Not in a race between expensive ($100+) titles, but for
the first set and others in the same price range, it's possible.
Can I count a Classic Wargame toward one of your sale
offers?
Sorry, no. These are a separate offer and can't be combined
with any special sales, including the monthly coupon.
How much is shipping?
Normal shipping charges apply.
Is your online order form secure?
Yes! The same technology keeps your information safe on
the Classic Wargames order form as on our regular online
store. The difference is the regular store charges you immediately
for a game to be sent right away; the Classic Wargames form
stores your information without charging you until the game
is ready.
So what is the "viable total?"
That varies by title. We'd like to see around 750 but
would accept fewer if it's a title we think will keep its
shelf life for some time.
What happens to my order if a game fails to get printed?
We'll destroy the record of your credit card information.
You will not be charged, though civilization will be the
less for the game's demise.
