With the new year well under way, we're finally able to catch up on some of the tasks left undone during 2009. We'd already fallen behind on providing free Daily Content counters to our Gold Club members, but now that we have new counter-making technology available to us, we can start providing these sorely missed perquisites of membership once again.
So far we can only do the larger pieces used in our Panzer Grenadier games, so the set we're getting ready now uses that size. Most of the pieces are from Panzer Grenadier topics — but not all of them. We have third edition leaders for Rome at War: Hannibal at Bay, without the meaningless extra value of previous rules sets.
Rome at War fans will also find pieces for Dave Murray's interesting variant for flanking detachments. These are suitable for Queen of the Celts or Fading Legions.
But thanks to the size limit, most of the pieces are for Panzer Grenadier games. We lead off with some extra Finns for Arctic Front Deluxe. There's the Sotka tank (T-34/76 in Finnish service) and some ski-capable infantry. No more pretending one counter is actually something else. And for those wanting more Italian action, we have Blackshirt leaders for Ottavio Riocchi's Fronte Russo. And rounding out the new pieces, some of the upgunned Firefly tanks from David Hughes' Beyond Normandy variant.

And then there are the terrain markers. Panzer Grenadier uses a fairly old game design concept called "geomorphic terrain." You put together the boards in different configurations to form the battlefield, and sometimes certain terrain features on the maps have to be ignored or changed. We try not to do that, but it does occur from time to time. The terrain markers help players remember when these changes are in effect.
