Red Parachutes:
Extra Counters
We released Red
Parachutes: Soviet Airborne Assault Across
the Dnepr in 1995, and it remains
one of the better games we’ve done over
the years. But we did manage to make a few
errors on the counter sheet, and have had
a couple of re-considerations over the years
as well.
Add the new Guards Cavalry
regiment counters as the strongest representing
each; rather than a unit with two steps (6-5-9/4-3-9)
these are now three-step units, with the new
8-7-9 counters.
The others replace counters
that had minor errors:
- The German regular army counter replaces
the reverse side of the I/258/112 infantry
battalion. The original had the incorrect
strengths.
- The Soviet 53/9 infantry battalion counter
replaces the reverse side of the 53/9 infantry
battalion. The original had the incorrect
formation symbol.
- The Soviet 3/460/100 infantry battalion
replaces the front and reverse of the 3/460/100
infantry battalion. The original was missing
the “460” on both sides.
- The Soviet 1st Cavalry Corps artillery
regiment support counter replaces the reverse
side of the 1st Cavalry Corps artillery
regiment support counter. The original had
the incorrect support strength.
- The three Soviet 4th Guards Anti-Tank
Battalion anti-tank companies replace the
front side of the originals. The original
counters showed tham as part of 68th Guards
Rifle Division.
- The Soviet 75/42nd Guards Artillery Regiment
counter replaces the front side of the original.
The original’s range was incorrect.
- The three Soviet 42nd Guards anti-tank
companies replace the front side of the
originals. The originals had an incorrect
morale value.
- The Soviet 25th Guards Artillery Brigade
counter replaces the front side of the original.
The original had an incorrect anti-tank
value.
- The Soviet 5th glider artillery battalion
replaces the 2nd. The original had an incorrect
unit ID.
