In the early weeks of 1945, inexperienced American infantrymen faced an offensive by veteran, well-equipped German divisions bent on shattering a weak part of the Allied line. But extensive concrete and steel fortifications had been built right across the German line of advance by the French years before as part of the Maginot Line. Showing their well-earned reputation for adaptability, the G.I.s cleared years of brush away from the positions and used them to halt the Germans. In North Wind, our popular small scenario supplement for Panzer Grenadier, the American player must use the strongpoint markers provided in Airborne to represent these fortifications. But those are in German colors, and today we have them available for free download in proper American olive drab.
