This game has re-opened all the
joys I derived from the hobby those many years ago. It
has a wealth of theatres, colourful counters, easy to remember
rules ... great game-play with the activations system,
masses of HISTORICAL scenarios ... and I still get that
boyish excitement when a new module is released and the
buzz of opening the newly acquired box/book and looking
at the counters/maps and scenarios.

Panzer Grenadier
Operation Citadel, Kursk 1943 In July 1943, history's greatest tank battle erupted when
the German Army hurled 50 divisions at the Red Army around
the city of Kursk, including 17 panzer and panzer grenadier
divisions with over 3,000 tanks. Long aware of German plans,
the Soviets were ready and waiting, with heavily fortified
lines backed by 3,600 tanks of their own.

Operation Citadel: Kursk 1943 is a stand-alone game
in the
Panzer Grenadier series: You do not need any other game
in the series to play any of the 80 scenarios. Design is by
wargame veteran Mike Perryman, designer of our March
on Leningrad
and Siege of Leningrad Panzer
Grenadier scenario supplements.
Forces include the German regular army, the Waffen SS, the
Red Army of Workers and Peasants, and Soviet Guards. Pieces
include masses of tanks: Lend-Lease Churchills and Grants,
T-34 tanks in three models, KV-1 heavy tanks, T-70 light tanks
and more. The Germans have Panther and Tiger tanks, Ferdinand
and Marder assault guns, Goliath explosive tanks, Wespe and
Hummel mobile artillery and lots more.
There are eight semi-rigid mapboards, the same type as those
found in Eastern Front,
created by Guy Riessen, who crafted the widely praised maps
for Elsenborn Ridge.
