Golden Journal:
Dog Days 2016

Several times a year, when we feel like it, the Golden Journal brings Gold Club members a set of extras for their Avalanche Press games. Our 18th issue delves into our Second Great War alternative-history setting to bring the Imperial German Marines to The Kokoda Campaign.

In this world where Woodrow Wilson negotiated an end to the First Great War in late 1916 and the great empires survived for another generation, Germany continues to rule northeastern New Guinea and has built a profitable colony there. Australian troops are pressing up the Kokoda Track across the Bismarck Mountains to capture the colony. The tough 1st Seebataillon of long-service Marines has climbed the trail to stop them.

The Dog Days 2016 Golden Journal comes with 24 new laser-cut and mounted Panzer Grenadier playing pieces representing the battalion: leaders, marines, machine-gunners, heavy weapons, artillery, a helicopter and an elephant. What game has ever given you a helicopter and an elephant?
