Flight
Markers
By Mike Bennighof
December 2013
The first several games of the Second
World War at Sea series featured markers
for flights of aircraft, a holdover from an
unpublished game on which several of the designers
had worked. The years since the publication
of SOPAC in 2000 have shown that almost
all players prefer to do without them, placing
their aircraft pieces directly on the operational
map and charting their movement.
But the key word is almost. A fair number
of you liked the flight markers, probably
more than we imagined. So we’ve provided
a free downloadable sheet with flight markers
in a number of nationalities, that you can
use with games that lack them or add to games
that already have them.
You can click
here to download the markers.
And here
to download a matching flight display card. |
