In 1893 and again in 1897, the United States and Japan faced off over the future of Hawaii (and again in 1902, over guano-stained Marcus Island). Kingdom of Hawaii is a Campaign Study for Great War at Sea, based on these American-Japanese confrontations that never became shooting conflicts.

But what if there had been a shooting war over these distant islands? That’s the question at the heart of Kingdom of Hawaii. We present 14 new scenarios based on these battles the never happened. You’ll need Second World War at Sea: Midway (for the operational map), Russo-Japanese War (for the Japanese pieces) and Remember the Maine (for the American pieces) to play the scenarios.

That 1893 confrontation takes place 11 years before the Russo-Japanese War, and some of the Japanese ships involved underwent modernization during the intervening decade. Kingdom fo Hawaii modifies their ratings to erflect their 1893-era capabilities. Here is the matching little data sheet for your personal use:
