Several times a year, when we feel like it, the Golden Journal brings Gold Club members a set of extras for their Avalanche Press games. Our seventh issue has its focus on two Second World War at Sea games, Midway and Coral Sea.
The premise is this: in 1937, President Franklin Roosevelt cut defense spending in response to the demands of Republicans and conservative Democrats for a balanced budget, even as unemployment continued to soar. Had he continued with his use of naval construction as a jobs program, the U.S. Navy would have had a number of additional heavy warships in 1941. You can read more about this here.
The Midsummer 2014 Golden Journal includes 25 new laser-cut, mounted, scorchless and sootless pieces for the Lost Ships of 1937: 15 "long" ship pieces and 10 aircraft pieces. And we have some scenarios for them, too.
How do you get it? Only by joining the Gold Club – join up and we’ll tell you how to get it for FREE. There's a shipping charge for it, but it’s so lightweight that it usually adds nothing to the shipping total when you order it with something else.
